Parkinson's Fit Classes Group Fitness

Ability Based Exercise and Movement classes FREE for members and guests who are living with Parkinson’s disease. 


PD Interval – Tuesdays – Studio A Functional whole body movements instructed interval style as you go back and forth between cardiovascular training and progressive strengthening. Includes movements to improve stability, coordination, balance, and spinal flexibility all while having FUN! This class format has been developed for those living with Parkinson’s disease and standing participation.

Tai Chi – Tuesdays & Fridays – Studio C Bring balance to your body with Tai Chi, a gentle exercise format promoting flexibility and stability, to improve balance and help prevent falls.

PD Chairside – Thursdays – Studio A All of the great moves of our PD Interval class but adapted for those who prefer seated exercise.

Self-Care Training – Thursdays – Studio C A special class just for care partners. Build strength and learn how to protect your body so you remain healthy and injury-free. Creating a fun atmosphere and support comes from working in a small group setting. Our Stephens Family YMCA Personal Training staff will focus on what you need to provide positive care for yourself and your loved ones.

PD Peddlers – Fridays – Studio B Riding a bike is an ideal form of exercise as it is low-impact and places little stress on your joints! Cycling may also help to prevent falls and fractures. This basic cycling class is designed for those living with Parkinson’s disease and concludes with standing balance work and stretching while holding on to the bike for extra stability.
